BBC Finally Goes HD

'Tis true. The British Broadcasting Co decides to join the masses by offering the Open in beautiful HD this week (ESPN sends the feed to the U.S.). Not sure how the St. Andrews track will look (I've never been there) but it has to be better than that fuzzy satellite crap we've endured over the years. From what I hear, the mounding and slopes are just as startling in person as Augusta National.

Maybe one day...

WHOA! Stevie Williams Better Be Worried

When Tiger Woods signed with Nike, his contract clause allowed him to use any club from any manufacturer. Slowly, he began replacing Titleist with Nike until only the Scotty Cameron putter remained. Now, reporters are frantically Twittering that Woods has finally made it an all-Swoosh bag by deciding to use a Nike Method putter this week at the Open. Since 1999, he won 72 events and 13 majors with the old reliable Newport model.

Supposedly, Woods has privately tried over 120 putters in practice over the years but only used the SC in tournament play.

Woods said, "Brought the other one with me, but "I think I'll stick with this one. I've always struggled on slower greens and the one I've gone to this week comes off faster and I've had to make very little adjustment."  Oh, he's using a new Nike ball too. Desperate times indeed.

Tiger has divorced the wife, his coach Hank Haney divorced him and now a new putter. Is caddie Stevie Williams next?

Better Than Caffeine

Adriana Monsalve. ESPN Deportes reporter for Central and South America. Born in Venezuela. Also lead singer in band Chikas. Hispanic spokesman for Rooms to Go. We'd shop for furniture with her any day--and that's saying a lot.
